(Construction.IndustryNews247.Com, September 06, 2015 ) Abbotsford, BC -- Wilway Lumber, a premier supply source for contractors and DIY aficionados, have announced that they can now be the first option for lumber supplies in Langley. This announcement is part of the company's goal to be the first option for any building and renovation equipment in Langley.
"Lumber is perhaps the most versatile building equipment as they can be used for so many things," says Carole Hamanishi, the office manager at Wilway Lumber. "Here at Wilway Lumber, we make sure that all our Langley lumber customers have a wide range of options for their lumber supplies."
Lumber is used to build houses, and it is used for just about every room in the house. People use lumber to create tree houses, add patios to their homes, build dog kennels, make garden beds, and for a lot more.
"The problem for our customers is, of course, to find the right sort of wood for their needs and find them in the proper volume," says Hamanishi. "We can help these customers get the right sort of lumber supplies they need for their particular building project, and we offer reasonable prices so that they won't have to go elsewhere looking for deals."
Builders have two kinds of wood to choose from for their projects. They can buy hardwoods such as cherry, maple, oak, or ash and these woods are very dense with interesting grain patterns. Softwoods such as pine, cedar, and fir are also available, and they're ideal for framing and outdoor projects.
"We offer treated lumber in Langley which should be used for exteriors only, and they're resistant to insect damage and rotting," says Hamanishi. "Then we also offer decking for floor boards and railing, and we also offer composite decking that's denser, more durable, and heavier than treated wood."
Wilway Lumber also has experts to help customers understand the various characteristics of lumber. For example, denser woods are characterized by their tight grain pattern and their weight, and they resist dents, scratches, and wear better than less dense wood. The color of the wood, such as the color of red cedar or white pine contributes a lot to its personality.
"Sometimes our experts can help customers understand the importance of grain direction when they're selecting their wood," explains Hamanishi. "We help them to choose the straight-grained board when they're working on a structural application, because they're the strongest, while the customer may be introduced to grain with varying characteristics if they need wood for decorative purposes.
At Wilway Lumber, customers will also learn about common defects in lumber and how these defects can affect their building projects.
